Recording the script

when i recorded the script, i recorded in the main studio and Steve helped set up a microphone but it kept falling so he stuck a book underneath to stop it from dropping. I set up logic and had the script on the other side of the screen so i could speak into the microphone whilst seeing that it is recording. It was the first time i have recorded in a script/speaking style and the main problem i came across was not being able to get my words out and slurring the words. I kept messing up my words so i had to edit it and fit it back in so it sounded right.

Making the documentary

This was the first time i had ever made a video/documentary so my skills were very basic but i searched how to do things on youtube and figured things out. I found it quite a long process and some of my pictures kept disappearing so i had to make sure i put everything in the right place and that it wouldn’t happen again. Making the documentary was the longest part because i had to get all the pictures and videos and put them in place with the script. I think for my first time making a video/documentary, its pretty good because when i first heard about making a documentary i thought i wouldn’t be able to.

I had set up a document called documentary and inside, i had a video file, still image file and an audio file.

Mixing the documentary

For the mixing of the documentary, i had to make sure that the sound was right so that the viewer can hear my voice but also hear the backing track underneath. I had three Beatles backing tracks beneath and i had to make sure each one sounded the same as each other so that none of them were louder than another one.

Finished product

You can find the documentary in the music production folder on the server. I tried to upload the video to youtube but i couldn’t because it was the Beatles and it was copyrighted.

Final evaluation

Overall, i found the process good but a little stressful at some points. The reasoning for that is because i had never created a video before. Coming into the task i had no skills on premier and no clue how to edit things and make sure everything is good. From this process i have learnt how to make a video. It might be basic but i think it’s good knowing that i hadn’t done anything like this before.
