Critical and contextual awareness (research)
When I research things for either learning or wanting to know something, I always go to the internet. I personally believe it’s a quick and easy way to gain facts. I generally go into google and search up YouTube to learn songs on a guitar that I like and just watch how someone is playing and pick it up from there. The purpose of research to me, is to gain information that will help me proceed in whatever I am trying to do. I think there is different types of research and that could be what you use e.g. a book, a website or a video.
Principles of Music (Computer Production)
Computer production is creating a piece of music on the computer and producing it. My computer music skills are aren’t very high because I haven’t ever really created a piece of music on the computer. Although whenever I have recorded music, it has been through Logic. I personally believe that I need to develop my knowledge on logic and properly learn how to use the software and learn all of the other things such as mixing and the details involved in making a piece of music.
Professional conduct and studio production:
Studio production is going into a studio and creating a piece of music and producing it through a studio environment. I have been into a few studios before and one being titan studios in Watford where the band Lower Than Atlantis created their self-titled album. I went there to record a song for my brothers band and the guitarist/producer Ben Sansom produced it for us. I observed all of their equipment they had and the environment that they were in when they created their album. I believe the professional conduct required in a studio, is to be respectful to the equipment and to know what you’re going to do when you get to the studio.
